Our Story

In late 2004, it must have been fate that brought these two together. Here is how it all came about...

Kendra was in a previous relationship that she was not happy in and she knew it was coming to an end. One day her good friend Chong at work asked her if she was interested in meeting her boyfriend James' friend John. She told Chong that she would like to but she needed to end the relationship that she was currently in. Kendra didn't want to open a new door without closing the one behind her.

So a few weeks later, Kendra had left that relationship that had her unhappy. Chong knew this and asked her about John again. Kendra told Chong that she wasn't ready to meet John yet and needed a little time by herself. Kendra figured if it was meant for her to meet this John, he would still be available when the time was right.

In the next several weeks that followed, she went on a few dates here and there, but no one caught her interest or met her level of standards; so she asked Chong if this John guy was seeing anyone. She said she didn't think so, but she would check with James and find out.

Chong found out that he was still single and he was interested in meeting Kendra too. But there was a catch... this John character asked to see a picture of Kendra first! Kendra asked if he was serious and Chong said yes he was very serious. They shared a few laughs about this picture request. Kendra said she would bring a picture, but he will have to provide a picture of himself as well! The picture exchange took place.

Needless to say, John said she was nice looking and instructed James to go ahead and give Kendra his number. Kendra thought he was handsome and said she was going to call. They spoke on the phone a few times and then they had their first date in early November...

They had a great time on their first date. Kendra, Chong and James met John at a restaurant and they all rode on John and James' motorcycles for a while. John brought Kendra back to her car at the restaurtant and they shook hands and said goodbye. Now John has a bit of a different take on that handshake... He claims that while he was putting his hand out for just a friendly handshake, Kendra was moving in with her eyes closed and her lips puckered out waiting for a kiss! Now if you know Kendra or John very well, you will know Kendra wouldn't have done that, and John was exaggerating!

So that is how their story began and they have been together and happy with each other ever since.

Our Wedding

Our wedding will take place July 29th, 2009 at Bolongo Bay Resort, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. We will be leaving on Monday, July 27th and returning Sunday, August 2nd. We chose a destination wedding because we wanted to get married in a smaller, more intimate ceremony with just the two of us and our family that will be attending.
